Governor Stitt Signs Pioneering Bitcoin Legislation
Oklahoma is making national headlines with this first-of-its-kind legislation signed into law by Kevin Stitt!
Oklahoma now boasts the most favorable regulatory environment in the United States for Hashpower and others, which serves as a beacon of freedom to the global community!
House Bills 3594 and 1600 have increased grid reliability and lowered electricity bills for all Oklahomans.
HB 3594 protects the rights to self-custody assets, transact using digital assets, and operate a node. It also bans additional taxation on digital assets, limits on decibels generated from operations in industrially zoned areas, municipalities regulating $B differently than data centers, and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and Utilities from establishing discriminatory rates.
HB 1600 clarifies that $B miners are treated as data centers, free to enjoy the manufacturer's tax exemptions in Oklahoma, which should incentivize capital investment.
These bills were passed as draft legislation from the Oklahoma Bitcoin Association in partnership with The Satoshi Action Fund, a national policy leader operating in 24 states.
SAF expects to make Oklahoma the national leader for additional draft data center legislation.
Hashpower, in partnership with Voltus, Inc., has pioneered Demand Response curtailments and Price Response curtailments directly in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market, a 14-state regional transmission organization.
